Vienna's Rapid Wien proved completely unprepared for the Conference League. After four rounds, the Austrians have a proud zero points, and even a coaching change hasn't saved them. The team hasn't shown any signs of improvement for a long time and can't even be considered a favorite at home. Omonia is putting up a decent fight in the Cypriot Championship, but they're struggling to earn points in the Cypriot League. Their tenacity allowed the visitors to pick up points in all but the first round, and the quality of their next opponent allows them to strengthen their already tolerable position. As much as we'd like to create intrigue here, Rapid are too weak and are losing even when they shouldn't. While they aren't dominant, they are persistent and injury-free, making them an interesting team to watch not only in this match but throughout the tournament as a whole.
Shelbourne are playing in the autumn stage of European competition for the first time in their history, but despite the lackluster performance of their previous opponents, the Irish team failed to score a single goal in the first four rounds of the overall Champions League stage. On the other hand, four goals conceded in four matches is a respectable result for a debutant. Even Dutch club AZ, despite their vastly inferior standings, managed to score only twice against Shelbourne. Competition against Crystal Palace will be much more difficult. The current FA Cup and Super Cup holders currently sit fourth in the Premier League, although, taking into account matches in all competitions, the Glaziers have won only half of their 24 matches in regulation time this season. Crystal Palace hasn't exactly been a consistent team of late, scoring an average of one goal per game in their last seven matches. However, given the level and current form of the opponent, it can be assumed that this goal bar will be slightly higher.
Rijeka always plays more boldly at home than on the road: the team often accelerates through the flanks and reacts quickly to any lapses in play from the opponent. Celje has its own defensive solidity, but against Croatian clubs, they often lack the speed of their transitions. Here, Rijeka can seize the initiative and control the match, not allowing Celje to dictate the rhythm. The hosts have enough arguments to play more actively and take points – their structure and depth appear more confident. I'm betting on 1x.
Raków is on a great run both in European competition and domestically. They have won five of their last six Polish league matches. In the Conference League, the Poles have two home wins and the same number of away draws—a classic pattern that leads to the Round of 16. Raków's performance in top matches has been impressive: a 0-0 draw with Sparta Prague on the road and a 4-1 rout of Rapid Wien at home. Zrinjski have won twice at home in the Liga, but their away form is abysmal: they lost 0-1 to Mainz and 0-6 to Dynamo Kyiv. In both matches, the Bosnians were abysmal in attack, achieving a combined expected goal average of only 0.38. Even in the Bosnia and Herzegovina league, problems have emerged: in their last three matches, they have managed to collect only four points out of a possible nine. Let's assume that Raków will win.
